After accepting that council was not going to allow us to put in a dam on our 2 acres, and sadly seeing the new ‘cut out’ homes going up before us on the new estate, we decided to sell our land. The ‘urban rural’ look is not what we wanted, though we understand its what many can only afford. Now we have sold our house and land, and are living in a 1952 bond wood caravan on the beach somewhere near Nelson Bay. While our van is a little beauty, which took me two years to restore, it gets a little tiring with two small boys and doing a one hour commute to school! Soon we move into a house which we will lease until something better comes up. Something larger with better soil, water (we would love a river!), and established trees. Good things are worth waiting for.
